Tracks of the Year PT. 3
I think this is going to be my last post for the Tracks of the Year, as these are pretty much all the top contenders. Lets get 'er started.
ARP 101 - U
I can't really tell you why I love this so much, but it just makes me feel so good inside! The bass is just so warm, and it just sounds so old school. If you like this track, I recommend picking up his Dead Leaf/Warriors Galactic release as well. I wanted to put it in this list...but it came out in 2010!
16 BIT - BOSTON CREAM
Boston Cream by 16bit
16 Bit never disappoints me. This track is on the harder side of things, but you know its a seller when Snoop Dogg puts it on his mixtape (which you can pick up here. It was okay).
KUTZ AND DJG - HELLA TIGHT
Both Kutz and DJG are some of the most underrated producers in the UK and US respectively. Together they've come together on N-Type's "Wheel and Deal" compilation and created a classic. The pads in second half of this song are just incredible. I feel like I should be listening to this track in Lechuguilla (Planet Earth heads know what I'm talking about).
SCREW UP MATTY G REMIX - SUBSCAPE
One of the biggest tunes of 2010 gets a fresh remix for 2011 from another one of my favorite producers (remember?). Its G-Funk at its finest.
SMOKE DZA - WE OUT
Again, someone I've covered before! Even though the 'hip hop is dead' conversation has been dead for the last 5 years or so, I think it's slowly coming back. Guys like Smoke DZA and ASAP Rocky (who was in the last post) just brought back authenticity, and having fun. Takin it back to the real old school.
THE WEEKND - GONE/WHAT YOU NEED
The Weeknd has hit my soft spots, perfecting the combination of R&B and Electronic music. And he's Canadian! Booya! Seriously though, both of these just send chills down my spine.
PIXELORD - CYBERNATOR (OM UNIT REMIX)
I love this tune because it reminds me of REAL electro; like Afrika Bambaataa, Newcleus, Cybotron...all that good 80's shit. If you don't like this, I don't like you! (jk, I love you all!)
DJ WANKA - PHIL COLLINS DUB/ DR. P/SKRILLEX - FROM THE LOVE SKY
These are the two best troll tracks I've ever heard, and thus they get the top of 2011. I still can't believe From the Love Sky has a quarter million views.
Thats about it folks. You probably don't agree with me at all, but thats okay! Thats why we all have our own blogs :)
Have yourselves a happy holiday season!

Tunesday: Special Christmas Edition!
I figured that I'd give you all some gifts this Christmas, with some new, free tunes, as well as links to some of the other free tunes I've given away over this last year; just in case you missed them!
But before we get into Tunesday....check this out. Dude frontflips (and lands almost perfectly) over a fully upright defender, and gets into the endzone for the touchdown. Christmas came early (and probably left early) in Cincinnati!
To start off, we get a genre defying tune from Totte Stankovich. Its almost a mix of dubstep, garage and hip hop. Its a nice party song for sure!
Totte Stankovich - The City - FREE DOWNLOAD by Totte Stankovich
Next is Om Unit's remix of Krampfhaft's "I Need You". There is no DL link on the soundcloud, but that is because they have a few other remixes for you too! DL HERE
Krampfhaft - I Needed You (Om Unit Remix) FREE DOWNLOAD (link in description) by omunit
Here is a bootleg of James Blake, from a good friend of mine, Cam Boyd aka Crimson. He lives in my city, and I'm actually working on a remix for him. This is nice and mellow though; perfect Christmas chillin music.
James Blake - Lindesfarne II (Crimson Bootleg) FREE WAV by crimson.
According to Riskotheque, this tune was just recovered from a 4 year old hard drive, so it is possibly the first dubstep track he ever finished. This piece of history is now ours to have!
Riskotheque - Bad Language FREE DL by riskotheque
A nice, chilled out old school dub track from L-Wiz. It's nice to know they're still making music!
L-Wiz - Island ( Free Download ) by lwizdubstep
Some darker, old school dubstep vibes for you from Djinn. This was actually posted on MRK-1's soundcloud, as he figures this is an artist we all need to be looking into...
Djinn - Darkness Falls (free download) by MRK1
Another chilled out one from Cat People!
Cat People Got 9 Lives - Here I Am by CPG9L
Some Hip Hop/Disco instrumental from a favorite (who has been on the blog before), King Boom!
Sword in the Moon - STMB Beat Battle 250 (106.000) by King Boom Productions
Dank n Dirty Dubz are giving away a free compilation, and here is a little Garage style teaser from Bristol producer Calski. This track isn't dank, or dirty, but its damn good.
DANK006 - Calski - Saffire [FREE DOWNLOAD] by DANK 'N' DIRTY DUBZ
A DnB roller from Metrik, another favorite who has been on the blog before
Metrik - Your World VIP by Metrik
And lastly (for new stuff), here is a free EP from Substep Infrabass. He has 7 free remixes of his track Monotonium for you! What a guy! DL HERE
SUBSTEP INFRABASS EXP™ - 'MONOTONIUM REMIXED' (F4TMusic - FREE DOWNLOAD!) by SUBSTEP INFRABASS
A nice little Grime zip from from the OG'z via Bandcamp
And a late addition from Helix!

Tracks of the Year PT. 2
Round 2, lets go! (and because Dwei brought up a good point...some tunes might not be seen as SFW. If this is seen as an issue, I would just listen to these when you get home!)
STARKEY FEAT. MERKY ACE & KOZZIE - PC
A killer grime tune from one of my favorite producers, and two really awesome MC's. Not too over the top, but still grimey enough that the streets should love it!
SPOOKY - SPARTAN
While this single was released in 2010...again, I give it a pass since it was December 30th. Its close enough to 2011. This instrumental, as well as all the remixes, brought real Grime back in a serious way.
ASAP ROCKY - PALACE
An awesome intro into one of my favorite albums of the year. Might not be everyones cup of tea, but if you like southern style hip hop, give ASAP Rocky a listen!
GEMMY - DA DODGEMS
Any time I hear this song, all I can think of is the So Solid Crew (here is your proof). The vocal sample at the drop is actually what sold me on the track. The whole thing is good, but seriously, I just love saying Awwwwwwww Shieeeeet.
MENSAH - BIG UP THE GOONS/ACID DUB
I couldn't choose which of these two tracks to put, so I settled for both. Big Up the Goons is a gangsta as shit purple kind of track...while Acid Dub is a throwback to the old school rave sound. Love them both to death.
Also, watch out for the post coming on Christmas morning, folks...you're going to be in for quite the present from ol' Santa (if you're good of course!)

Tracks of the Year PT. 1
I'll be posting these over the next few days, as I figure this will give me enough time away from my family to stay sane, as well as not taking up too much time and looking like a dick. These tracks are in no particular order or anything, just the first songs to really come into my head. Lets get this started:
JAH CURE, RICK ROSS AND MAVADO - LIKE I SEE IT
I'm pretty sure this song came out near the end of 2010, but thats close enough for me. Especially since I only heard it for the first time a few weeks ago. And speaking of Rick Ross....
RICK ROSS - BMF
While this was (again) released in 2010, this was the jam of 2011. As a DJ, I was always throwing this in my mixes. It was cool to hear it played by big name DJ's as well, such Chase & Status, Nero, and someone else...I just can't remember who. If you don't like the song, you'll at least appreciate the first comment in the video:
I think I'm big meat,
Whopper Junior
Extra bacon,
Hallelujah
No lettuce,
Extra cheese,
Real niggas don't give a fuck 'bout heart disease
ROB SPARX - WALK ON
Michael Jackson samples? Check. Unnecessarily long breakdowns? Check. Super dope drop, without being super bro-ish? Check. Waited six months to only play this out once? You bet.
COKI - ROBOTNIK
While this song has been making its way around the circuit for a couple of years, it finally got a release. ~dub in its purest form~

Stuck in an Airport....
...and thus I've decided I finally have enough time to make a post. Holy crap guys, these last two weeks have been nuts. Six essays, four finals, and a two weeks worth of work and I'm finally on vacation. I'm going out to visit my parents in Halifax, and at the moment I'm stuck in the airport of our nation's capital, Ottawa. It really isn't too big, and kind of boring. Bleh. Looking on the bright side though, on my flight here, I was supposed to sit by a baby. Luckily, there was an open row right across from where I had been sitting, so they moved me, and gave me a free rye and coke for the inconvenience; jackpot! Now if only I can snag the same deal on my next flight....
You've probably heard, the almighty Kim Jong-Il has died. However, since he was not well received in the international community, and since the internet knows no boundaries, here are some hilarious photoshops of him doing what he does best: droppin mad bass in the DJ booth. Check it out http://kimjongildroppingthebass.tumblr.com/ (I'd love to link this...but for some reason I can't. hmmmm)
Since I'll have plenty of spare time over these holiday's, I think I'm going to do a round up of my favorite released of the year. There is no set number, style or genre, more of just what comes to mind first. It should be good.
Anyways, my plane boards in a few minutes, so I leave you with some of the best christmas songs of all time.

Preview from Silkie
Silkie has been hyping up the remix he's doing for DJ Shadow, and today he finally uploaded a little preview. Its wonderful, like some 80's R&B. Cheesy but wonderful!
DJ Shadow ft. Little Dragon - Scale It Back (Silkie's Slowjam Mix) by Silkie
And on a completely different tangent; Here is the....funniest(?) video I've seen this week. Who wouldn't want TWO lightsabers for christmas?!

Is this the greatest parking job of all time?
Well, no, its not. He ends up bumping both cars, but still caused no visible damage to them. However, the fact that he still got in there is insane. Dude's got George Costanza swag.
Also, today is the last day of classes. Now a month of freedom (aside from finals)!

Tunesday feat. Skream and Benga, plus a few mixes from myself
Ahoy there folks, Tunesday is back (and will probably be returning from now on). This week Scion is running a promotion with two of my favorite producers, Skream and Benga. Just fill in the info to get your 5 free tunes! Booyah!
Also, as a little plug, here are three old mixes I keep forgetting about. These are actually where the name Low Frequency Therapy came from. Two of them are from around 2008/2009, the other one is from last year. There should be download links on the site, and if not you can download them with Google Chrome's 'Mixcloud Downloader'! For some reason this doesn't work with the oldest mix...but thats okay. Enjoy them folks; lemme know what you think!

Four Free Tunes from Truth
Earlier in the week, Truth gave away one of these tunes on soundcloud, and I figured 'eh, I'll wait until tunesday', but now I can't. All of these are rating pretty high on the bassweight scale...so make sure you turn those subs up!

Lazy Friday
Ahoy there folks. I've been trapped in a dungeon the last couple of days writing essays, and I'm glad to temporarily be out. I also just picked up an iPhone, and while I still like the Android OS more...I can tell I'll be content with getting iPhones for a loooooong time. Their processing power seems to be a little bit more consistent, and to be honest, thats all I really care about. Anyways, I fell asleep in the school library last night and wasted a bunch of my day today sleeping, so here what is quite possibly Russell Peters only good bit. Dude is spot on with impressions and accents!
Have a good weekend!

It was a windy one...part 2?
So I found a news report of the windstorm that blew through yesterday; looking at what it did to our city is kinda crazy. I mean, the entire downtown was shut down. From wind. How often are you going to hear about that happening???
It was a windy one yesterday....
As the title says, holy shit was it ever windy yesterday. Out of nowhere, we had this crazy windstorm, causing windows to be ripped out of skyscrapers downtown...which in turn caused the entire downtown to be shut down. No public transit, no driving your own car. Police had certain streets all taped off, and were guiding everyone out on one road (which sucked, as it took me an hour and a half to get out). It was crazy. Apparently, down where my parents used to live, the wind was so strong it was causing grassfires too.
All of this makes me wonder...why is winter not here yet? I have enjoyed the nice weather (minus those damn arctic winds), but the fact that we only have a 1/4 inch of snow on the ground is really odd. Usually we have snow on the ground on Halloween...but not this year.Shit, I can even go outside in just a hoodie some days. Anywhere else been experiencing a weird winter?
And before I forget, here is "Cybornator" by Pixelord. I can never get enough of this one!

Sunday Funday
Well, its a busy one for me today. I still have papers to write, but I have a dilemma. My crew's old bar is shutting down for good...so we're all going down to have one last beer and watch the Grey Cup (Canadian Football...I couldn't care less about it). Hopefully that last beer stays at one, and doesn't turn into too many, I don't think writing a paper drunk would be too good (or would it?)

Here is something even more strange. This twitter feed that is all "Sayings for Girls", where "She" (there has to be a few of them), are pumping out like 5-10 of these sayings an hour. Its quite....ridiculous I guess.
Also, yes Bart, West Edmonton Mall does have a shooting range. But there are a bunch of them; I think theres 3 or 4 here in Calgary too. When I was younger, we went to one and got to shoot .44 Mags, M-16's, whatever. It was too good.

Happy Thanksgiving...
..to everyone down south anyways. We Canadians had our thanksgiving last month, but I still like to cash in on the American one too. I wanted to deep fry a turkey again, but this time, I'm just going to sit around all day, watch football, do a bunch of essays, etc. So for now, I wish you all a safe holiday and hope you enjoy this video, and this mix!
War is hell.

This was made by a good friend of mine; its really low, really deep. Give it a listen!

Is it seriously only Tuesday?
I woke up this morning, feeling so good, thinkin it was Friday. Apparently its going to be a long week, but oh well. I have a couple of papers to finish up before the end of the month, so I figured it was going to be pretty busy.
Anywho, here are a few funny things I've found. First off, we got something as crazy as it sounds, and that is Volcano Surfing.
While they Volcano isn't active...these people are still zoomin down! 40 km per hour doesn't seem too fast when you're in a car or on a motorcycle, but when you're just on a sled its extreme.
Then there was also this article I found, with the worst tip you've ever seen at a restaurant. As a bartender, I would kill this dude.
And before I go, my friend's label, Tycho Records, has released a free compilation on soundcloud. Enjoy!

Cheesy Music
I'm a sucker for all types of cheesy music, so when I heard this remix, I had to laugh pretty hard. Its a bootleg of Lady Gaga's Telephone (done by MRK-1). You might be be tired of the original, but this remix is pretty good, for how cheesy it is! And its a free download, which I know you all love.
Lady Gaga - Telephone (MRK1 Booted it Rmx) by MRK1
What are your favorite cheesy tunes? I think my next post is just going to be a bunch of stuff I should be ashamed to like.

I can't believe I forgot to post this...
I am a sucker for those really bad church signs and billboards; I think they're some of the funneist things on the internet. And the other night, when I was out in downtown, I found a sign of my own. I was going to write a description, but instead, I will just ask this; This has to be intentional, right? No one is this daft, right?????

#Occupy Pepper Spray Cop
You've probably seen him everywhere lately (and if not, again, what are you doing on the internet!?), but here is an article with a bunch of hilarious photoshops, now that its become a full fledged meme.

Fueling Change, and some other new stuff
First off, TGIF. I hate using that abbreviation, but I could not be happier with the fact that it is finally Friday. For one, most of my marks for midterm exams/projects were up today, and its nice to see most of my marks ranging from B's to A's. I'm glad to know all that slaving away in my room wasn't for nothing!
Anywho, for this update HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO GO GOOD IN THIS WORLD. Some of you might have looked on the side of the blog in the twitter feed and seen something along the lines of "I voted for Fueling Change"...and have been wondering what that is. Essentially, Shell is vowing to give $25,000 in funding to a company who is "fueling" environmental change in our society. My girlfriend and her colleagues in Student Energy have entered this contest. In a nutshell, they put on international conferences to educate University students (and eventually, anyone and everyone) in the world of Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability, specifically energy. Now, back to that contest. The company with the most votes wins the $25,000, and there is probably some prizes for second and third place. However, if you could take a few seconds out of your day to sign up, and vote for this, it would be much appreciated. If you are a person who really thinks this is a great way to change how we think about the envrionment (or if you just reaaaaaaaaaaaaally like me that much), you can get 40 more votes by logging in with Facebook or Twitter, giving you a grand total of 50 votes! Again, voting on this would be much appreciated by me, the whole Student Energy fam, and our planet!
So enough of that sappy stuff. Here are two tunes I've been feeling lately. They're more experimental than usual, but I think you'll still enjoy them!
This first track comes from Old Apparatus...who I'm sure I blogged about before, but I can't find the post. Oh well. Theres no real way to explain this song...you just must listen. He had a pretty cool mini-mix as well, which you can find here.
Old Apparatus - Hand to mouth by Old apparatus
This next one is from Kromestar's new "Parallel Sounds" EP (which is marvelous). It has that super old school 80's synth vibe; to be honest, it sounds like it should be the theme song to an old police/action show, or possibly a game show. Anyways, it is awesome.
Have a good weekend all! Don't forget to vote!

Juggalos: The New Threat!
I'm going to assume most of you know what a Juggalo is by this point in time, but in a nutshell; they are fans of the Insane Clown Posse (if you by chance don't know who they are...here is an example. If you haven't heard that before, what are you doing on the internet?), dress in facepaint, drink terrible soda, and feel like they are misunderstood.
I have to agree that they are misunderstood, because the FBI just released their annual Gang report, and have listed Juggalos on there (pg 21). This is pretty ridiculous, as they are the grown up equivalents of that fat kid in elementary that got picked on. Yes, I'm sure some commit crime. Yes, they hang out in groups and identify with one another. But is this enough to make them a gang? Are they even that organized? I fucking doubt it. And to be honest, having them above the section for Human trafficing and prostitution is pretty ridiculous...
I dunno about this one guys; what are your thoughts?

Inspiration
After getting sick the last week, and now, just recovering from getting my wisdom teeth removed, I am back for good, and here is a good post to come back on. I usually like to look at a webcomic now and then to get a good laugh, but this is surprisingly inspirational. I highly recommend you all check it out yourself! Its written by an 85 year old man who has seen all the economic downturns of the last centery, so if there is any point where you are feeling like the world is keeping you down; remember his words!

Its Been a Long Time...
I shouldn't have left you (but I did, and I am sorry about it)!
(also, h8ers gunna h8, this song is sick and I don't care what you think!)
For the last week, I have been recovering from some sort of black plague (or flu...but I still say its the plague) that I caught at a party the day after my last post. I felt better a few days later, then alas, we hit a cold snap and it came right back. It has been brutal. However, I am now better, and with good timing, as I'll be getting my last two wisdom teeth out this weekend. Fun times all around for this guy! I'm actually pretty stoked to get them out though; I get to take a week off work, sit back and relax for the weekend and watch a bunch of movies....ahhhh I can't wait.
Anywho, that aside, here is a special halloween article for you guys (although I guess technically halloween just ended...unless you're on the west coast). In Colorado, a family was shocked to find a masked intruder in their bathtub. Given the fact that it was a 40 pound Raccoon, they were probably shocked, stunned by cuteness, then shocked again, since it is a fricken 40 pound Raccoon. I mean, that thing is the size of a small child, it could probably maul you no problem. Personally, I'd like to know what Rafi would do if this happened to him!
And in a last minute addition, here is an article about an old jewish guy from New York who was a pen pal with Muammar Gaddafi in the 1980's. He then thought it would be a good idea to catch up with him over the last few months. Sadly, his letter got returned unopened (who would of thought?).
Happy (belated for the most part) Halloween everyone!

Want Some Crack?
I bring this up in a sort of response to the Hasidic Plumber's post about meth heads. While yes, meth heads are cool because they look like Mr. Buscemi, they still have nothing on the original fiends: crackheads. The Plumber makes the point that "You can make em do all sorts of funny stuff for very little cash, which makes them a great source of entertainment." and that "Meth heads are sneaky and highly motivated."
I don't doubt this at all. In fact, I've seen these facts to be true. However, I'm going to argue that crackheads are even more highly motivated, and don't waste their time doing petty things for cash. Instead, we see innovation in places such as Miami, where crackheads are starting their own, crackhead exclusive economies to fuel their habits. I've heard of meth heads stealing copper and taking it to the recycling facilities to get their money...but crackheads are saying fuck the middle man, why do more work than we need to? Going to the recycler's is wasting my smoking time, let the dealer do it (and probably get a better deal)!

Thank you all for the wishes on the midterm. I wrote it today...and am pretty confident about it! Its always good to come out of an exam with that confidence. Last exam I got a B-, so lets see if I can top it!
Anyways, here are some new downloads for you. I really love all three. Now, back to studying!

More Music Today
Ahoy there folks. Since today is going to be a "cram for midterm" day, I thought I'd just post a few more tunes today. Plus I have to go to the grocery store, and this post is preventing me from doing so (I just love you all that much).
To start off, we've got Slamagotchi, from Australia. As you know, Australians are weird (and I only say this to shock my Australian readers...I know you're there!), and his music is just as such. Its really left wing, really experimental, but I loves it.
Home Is The Campfire I Built In Your Heart by Slamagotchi
As weird as you Aussies are, you put out some good stuff...and I'm not just talking about Paul Hogan!
Next up, from the UK, we've got a personal favorite: Hackman. I don't even really know how to categorize this...I guess its kind of funky house, but so relaxing? You should just listen and determine for yourself.
remix 2 clip by Hackman
Back over to North America, we have some hip hop from Dicyfer Da Wize. Once again, a very relaxing track. Super legit though; on some 8 bit vibes too.
Too Much To Ask For (Instrumental 45) by Dicyfer Da Wize
Another American hip hop track, coming from DesMo. Do you like scratching? Do you like soulful samples? Then you'll like this. This track is swag times 1000.
Serious - DesMo by Desmond "DesMo" Edwards
Last but not least, the latest hip hop one from myself (you didn't even know I produced, did you?). Lemme know what you think!
Wonder (full) by Kid Shuffle
Anywho, back to cramming for Urban Studies. Have a good weekend all(and don't forget, get on that twitter with us! @kidshuffleLFT)!

Statistics Behind #OccupyWallStreet
I'm not going to get into too much details about this, as I'm sure you're hearing about it from other places. However, here is an excellent article from Business Insider, showing what the protesters are protesting for. This article is just nice, because it gives a bunch of peer reviewed graphs and charts, instead of the "99%/1%" argument. So here you are folks, time to get learned.

Who IS The Greatest Gangster of All Time?
I never really ponder this question, but I've just seen a picture that has peaked my interest, and made me think about it. Who would it be? You could go as far back as 2000 years ago and say it was the Roman Emperors/Roman Catholic Church, since they've been on some mafia style shit since then. You could bring it to contemporary times, and say it was Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, Carlo Gambino, John Gotti, or any other Italian living in the Eastern Seaboard; they are pinnacles of the American Mafia. They don't cut it, though.
The Greatest Gangster of all time, is someone that we all know of, but wouldn't expect to be so. He was very soft spoken, and had a best friend named bubbles.
Thats right, Michael Jackson was a goddamned Crip (and this was after he turned white. Thats how you know he was legit), so therefore, he is the Greatest Gangster of all time.
In hindsight, Beat It probably should have given this away...

Have You Ever Thought a Mailbox Was Something Else?
If so, have you ever been as depressed as this fella was?
Here is a crazy soccer goal, via Slovenia. I don't even think the guy who kicked it knew it went in.
And to relate to some music, here is a cool song from King & Hulk. I don't even really know how to explain it, but its really different; quite cool.

I've pushed all my post updates onto twitter, as I plan on trying to use it more, so if you'd like to follow, please do! I'm going to be putting a twitter widget on the blog as well. So follow (I promise I'll follow back), @kidshuffleLFT

Dub Police 060 - Matty G: Back to the Bay EP
Matty G is one of my favorite producers, but hasn't really put anything out for a while so I've been kind of choked.
(Here's some older stuff from him)
I now see why, as Dub Police has put previews of his new EP up on their youtube page. I don't know what the release date on it is, but I can't wait.

Back on the Trolley
Well its been a little while since I've done a legitimate post, and here is why. Its been a long week, working on papers, group projects, and studying for midterms (sadly, I've only had one midterm so far...four more to go...), as well as finding out my wisdom teeth are quite impacted, and super inflamed. Bleh.
However, there is good news. With my work and school coverage, it will pretty much be 100% covered, and thats always nice. I've also had a bunch of people look at my papers (it'd been a while since I wrote a proper essay), and they said there wasn't a whole lot of fault in there; just minor rust. Its also (Canadian) Thanksgiving, so me and the lady are going away for a few days. Its nowhere special, but they have one of the top paleontology museums in the country. And we're nerds, so it works. Plus the hotel has a hot tub, so fuck yeah.
And since I can't leave you without something to remember, here are Cam'Rons Most Ignorant Moments. If you don't know who Cam'ron is, he is a rapper from Harlem, who as you will see, has done and said some pretty hilarious things. You may recognize him from this meme (which is from moment #4):
Some more examples of these ignorant moments: showing off the stripclub in his house, bringing a girl into Walgreens and seeing what she can hold in her butt cheeks, making his mom scrub his jewelry with a toothbrush...its pretty funny.
Happy Thanksgiving, folks!

Want a Free iPad?
I got this email from my girlfriend today...seems legit!
If you are interested in getting an iPad I can get hold of them through my cousin. These are legit, not off the back of a truck, they are from a canceled Hospital contract due to the Government cutbacks.
The numbers are limited
–he has twenty iPads going for less than half price so it's first come first served.
He has already sold one (pic is attached below so you can see what you are getting).
Get back to me quick as you can if you want one.

So yesterday we reached the 100 followers milestone...which I guess puts me at Wayne Gretzky status, plus one! For all my followers, I have decided to show you the most appealing pictures of Wayne Gretzky I could find. (as a coach though. I use that to justify the "plus one").
Before that though, here are a few good tunes I've recently bought (yes, people still buy music!).
From the CD "Dungeon Raps". I never heard of D Mattolla before, but damn he makes a good smokers album...and speaking of which...
Smoke DZA's "Rolling Stoned" is seriously the smoking album of the year. I've listened to this album front to back at least 10 times in the last 3 days. GET IT.
And now, I present Wayne Gretzky:
Hey look, theres even two from the same game. Hilarious! Anyways, thanks a lot guys, expect a lot more to come!

The Weeknd
Last night I went to this super hip party in this venue called "The Area". It was pretty cool. It was down in this neighbourhood called Inglewood (which used to be the ghetto, but has been somewhat gentrified. I remember living down there as a kid, and having some homeless guy walk into our apartment from the balcony out of nowhere). Anyways, they had the "bar" in a shack with a bathroom, and then had the DJ out in the backyard in a shed, which was beside a bunch of fire pits. It was super cool, it just felt like a huge house party. Anywho, while I was there I ran into my friend Adam, who is on our national gymnastics team (or was, I'm not too sure anymore). He told me to check out this guy The Weeknd. Guy is from Toronto, and is super chilled out. So, since it is now saturday morning for me, I give you some tunes for the hangover recovery!
If you liked that, he has given away both of his albums for free on his website. Now, time to relish my day off and start working on an essay and a group project; have a good weekend, all!

Come on F**kin Guy...
Now yes, I realize this video is as old as the internet itself now, but I remember this video when it was fresh. Like 1000 views fresh. Being in Canada and involved in hip hop in High School had some perks. I guess seeing this before most people was one of them. For those who haven't ever seen this before, it is probably the most hilarious rap video of all time. I don't recommend watching it if you're at work (and school might not be the best of ideas either, but meh), as there are (somewhat) scantily clad women in it. Enjoy, my friends (and enjoy the hilarity of his facebook page)
I'd say this is the best thing to happen to hip hop since Big Bear's "Doin Thangs" album cover...

News for This Week
Before we get into the news, here is a new remix from a friend of mine, Jay Retro (who I've covered in a post a few months ago)
Scientists have developed a new type of birth control that is apparently 95% effective. I'd get into how this works, but its not as effective as abstinence, so why do I care?
If you have kids, do you hate them? Do you hate them enough to ditch them when you skip town? Yes? Okay good. Now do you hate them enough to not speak to them for approximately 30 years, then sue them so they have to take care of you? If so, you are a terrible, terrible person.
Speaking of hate, have you ever gotten into an argument with your significant other and just felt like you were going to explode? Well, in Russia this guy took it a little bit further and threw a grenade at his wife. God Bless Russia.
Ever planned on moving to Indiana (or already live there)? I recommend against doing so, as they've pretty much legally become a police state, as if the police come to your door, without a warrant, you cannot refuse to let them in.
In lighter news, here is a picture of the Milky Way...taken in the middle of the Himalayas.
And since I'm in school and should be learning, here are a few other quick stories (I think I'm just going to call this the 'ticker section' from now on)... The IMF says the world economy is entering a "dangerous new phase"....GM is moving its electric car development to China....Sharks may be the key to protect humans against viruses such as hepatitis....We've appeared to have broken the Speed of Light....and lastly, Man details 9 month sexual encounter with a dolphin (in his new book). Yes, you read that right.
Also we're now at 97 followers; only two more until we get to Wayne Gretzky status (although I guess 100 followers would be cool too)!

Not a Whole Lot From Me
Today, anyways. These last two weeks have been kicking my ass. School started last week, and until yesterday, I'd still pretty much been working every night! Today is my early day, so I'm just going to leave you with a quick post for now (and might do another one during my break later).
This is a tune, its so smooth!

This is What Happens When You Let Me Procrastinate
aka, here are a bunch of news articles I've been collecting for the last three weeks or so. My editorials are going to be shorter today, so I can give you a few more articles to read. Unless I find something really interesting, of course. Then I'm going to give you all my thoughts and opinions on it.
Clint Eastwood, the conservative poster boy says that he "doesn't give a fuck if gays marry". I'm sure the Republicans are happy about this one! But good on ya Clint, I'm glad to see there are right wingers out there who just want people to be happy.
Speaking of conservatives/Republicans, you all know I hate Sarah Pailin. However, back in 1987, I probably would have participated in 'Nailin Pailin'....just as former NBA star (and I use that term quite loosely), Glen Rice apparently did. Yes, the source is the National Inquirer, who got a taste of someones Pailin biography, but still. It would be quite hilarious if she actually ended up having a one night stand with him...mostly because this would really damage her standing with the conservative (or as we all know, southern) voting base.
Man Beheads Himself in Virginia. According to the police, he did this over his girlfriend. They said they'd "Never heard of anything like it".
Just in case you're secretly a millionaire (or better yet, a billionaire), I figured I'd let you know that there are five a few Super Bowl Ad spots left! They are 30 seconds long, and 3.5 million dollars each. You're welcome in advance, millionaire! For giving you this info, all I ask is that you put me in your commercial.
It was Pixar's 40th anniversary this year, and they've decided to show you their first 3D model of a hand. Its quite cool to see how far they've gone since then. Seriously, check this out.
We've got two articles about the moon, one about how the moon is going to become a "No Fly Zone" so we can preserve the landing sites for historical purposes (insert argument of "landings were staged, why does it matter?") , and the other is high res photos of some of the moon landing sites (insert more grumbling from conspiracy theorists).
Do you play Facebook/Google/social networking games? Have you ever paid real money, to buy stuff in the games? Would you be surprised if I told you that if that game gets shut down, you don't get your money back? Apparently, some people don't understand this concept. To quote one person:
"You do realize that people paid REAL MONEY for gold items, don't you?...I expect a check in the mail for all of the gold items that I have in the SuperPoke Pets game."
Yes, we DO realize that. Now, do YOU realize that when a service in "the real world" shuts down, you don't get get a refund. This is not a stock market, where you've invested money and become a shareholder. This is a game, where you paid for the "gold" like you would pay for gas, groceries, a TV, whatever. You don't get a refund on that TV when your local Best Buy shuts down, right? I just don't understand how people are this stupid.
There were definitely more articles, but after that story, my brain feels like its going to explode...so I don't think I can handle anymore editorials. Anywho, have a good weekend folks, I await to see what everyone thinks about these stories (and if you're really interested, here is a story about a radio contest to win a russian bride, and a toys-r-us manager who laundered a millions so he could have a prostitute).
