Iron Mike

I'm a sucker for boxing, and that might just be because I was growing up in Mike Tyson's heyday. I remember watching Tyson as a kid, and just being amazed at how powerful one person could be. Now, we only really remember Mike for biting off Evander Holyfield's ear, legal problems, and more recently, for his cameo in the Hangover. Now I don't look up to Mike for the wrong he's done, I just want to show some appreciation for his athletic ability. However, if you're interested to know his side of his life story, and want a little look into his mind, I really recommend watching this documentary "Tyson". Its really well done, and it really shows that on the inside, he's a not that mean dude all the time, and is actually a lot more intelligent than we all give him credit for. Anyways, here's some classic fights.

Mike Tyson vs Eddie Richardson. Nov 13, 1985

Mike was still 19 at the time of this fight, and this was his 11th fight of the year. He ended up fighting 15 times that year. Name any fighter who does that now, its just unreal. Now, look how Richardson just goes stiff as a board when he gets knocked out, and how Mike comes up to make sure he's okay afterwards.

Mike Tyson vs Sammy Scaff. Dec 6, 1985

All I can say about this, is what was Sammy Scaff thinking, and watch his nose at the end of it. Also, there was another fight in between the two I've just posted. He was seriously fighting ever 3-4 weeks. Christ.

Mike Tyson vs Michael Spinks. June 26, 1988

Well, thats a terrible way to lose your title, but at least he didn't go out like Michael Johnson.

(39 second knockout)
